Yesterday, just went to Chinatown to buy my Guo Da Li stuffs at Amanda Dreamweaver!

It was situated at People's Park Centre, opposite OG. It was a very small shop that is stack with a lot of stuffs. Once there's more than two couples, it will be super packed together with the two bosses.

Once we are there, the uncle will ask us to "随便看看"

And this is Darling "随便看看"!

When you confirm wanna to buy already, then they will start to introduce the necessary stuffs require during Guo Da Li.

The one normally explaining is the uncle, who insisted that we must take his lesson. He will pass us a piece of paper and a pen, and we need to write down the sequence. Its very sweet of them to provide such friendly service! The uncle is really quite a darling, but a bit naggy ;P

So if you are afraid that you are not sure what you need, Amanda Dreamweaver will be there for your service!

Even though, they got great service, but they are also businessman! They will tell you and persuade you to get a lot of things! In their dictionary, everything is necessary! So try not to be persuade by them, make sure you get things that is required!

Please do your homework before you go there, so you will not be UPSELL!

Finally, I had gotten my invitation card printed out and will be delivered soon!

I got a friend of mine to design my wedding invitation for the Soka ceremony! Darling and I wanted a cartoony feel, where we can use it onto our T-shirt too!

We are very satisfied with the outcome!

Then suddenly, there comes the wedding dinner! Remember I had drawn something out, but too bad can't use it! Nobody can help us to trace the picture out into the computer.

So I got to last minute learn how to use the Photoshop! And this is what I came out in such a short notice!

Don't look like a production from an amatuer to me! What do you think?

I guess is a blessing in disguise! I manage to pick up a new skill with this wedding!

For those who wanna to be different, wedding invitation is very important as it makes the very first impression! You can try doing it yourself or engage professional!

Some professional only offer designing the artwork and you need to find your own printer. And I got mine from Sun Plaza, near NAFA.

I also engage another professional to help me with my Bali wedding invitation card. Once done, will show it to all of you!

Its been a trippy month! Just been to Desaru recently!

Desaru was famous for its durian buffet and seafood meal! I guess many of you will be so excited upon hearing lots of durian and lots of seafood. But honestly, I didn't really enjoy the trip!

But I can share with all of you the itinerary...

6.30am: Gather at Jurong to board the bus

8.30am: Breakfast at Ah Kun

Haha.... its not our Singapore famous Ah Kun Kaya, but is JB famous Yong Tau Foo

Well, I would put as this is the best meal I had throughout my entire trip in Desaru!

9.30am: Desaru Heritage Musuem

Haiz... its the most boring musuem I had ever been in my life!

10.30am: Visit the Fruit Farm

The Fruit farm is pretty interesting! I had learnt quite a lot through this visit and had seen many different types of fruits and veggies that I have not seen before.

Ever seen such big "Jackfruit" before? This is considered small in the farm...

12.30pm: Durian Buffet

Yuck... all the durian are still very raw! There's a super long queue for the durian, we are all waiting for the person to open the durian. But all we gotten are unripe durians, which is super disappointing!

They say, "Still not in season!"

2.00pm: Honey and Bee Talk

So much about gaining knowledge on Bees and Honey! Its more like a sales talk, trying to get us to buy the honey and pollen pills... What a waste of time!

3.30pm: Ostrich Farm

Other than Ostrich, you are able to see other animals... Its quite fun and I had a chance to stand on the Ostrich egg. Its definitely very strong and solid to be able to survive a human's weight.

You can oso find alot of different Ostrich products. Wow, you will be amazed by how creative human can be. It range from souveniers, to makan, to beauty product, to tonics and lastly to bags and wallets!

5.30pm: Seafood Dinner

I was being told that its a Lobster Seafood dinner... Yum yum rite?

Haha (weak)... The Lobster is "chong" one, its clay prawn!

Nvm, you might be thinking the taste must be good lah! Er... to be honest... "Nope" Even though, there's a lot of pictures of celebrity visiting the place, but the taste was far from fantastic!

To me, its edible, not delicious or excellent kind! JUST EDIBLE!

7.00pm: See Firefly

Finally, its the highlight of the day!

Its was raining crazily, I thought that the trip will be cancelled cos we need to take a boat ride out.

Fortunately, rain rain had go away!

The Firefly trip was definitely an experience of a lifetime! I had never seen fireflies before, and they are really very beautiful! Even though, we get to see them from a distance, but their brightness are strong enough to deco an entire tree beautifully!

Once in awhile, we are lucky to get one or two flew out of the tree and be near us! They are so CUTE! How nice they can land on my hand!

Didn't expect that there's so many things to be involved in the Guo Da Li process!

All along, I thought that Guo Da Li is a very simple process. Just buy some cakes, dried seafood, some traditional stuffs and the dowry, then deliver to the bride's house will do!

But its not the case! The groom side need to buy and deliver the stuffs, and the bride side need to buy even more stuffs to return back to the groom!

I only get to know all these procedures when we passed by a shop in Ang Mo Kio the other day.

Betrothal Gift

These are the set of stuffs required for the groom to bring over to the bride's place. The general stuffs are:-

1) Dragon Pheonix Candles
2) 5 Element Seeds
3) Red Cloth
4) Sweets
5) Cakes
6) Dried Seafood
7) Oranges
8) Tray

Dowry / Return Gifts for Betrothal

I didn't know that all these stuffs are bought by the bride's side! These items will be used during the wedding day itself:-

1) Sewing kit
2) Prosperity Lamp
3) Face Towel
4) Wooden Clogs
5) Dining Set
6) Mug Set
7)
Tea Set
8) Descendents Pail Set
9) Chopsticks

Bed Setting (An Chuang)

This is only usable the week before the wedding. You can choose to buy it nearer to the date or treat this as a return gift during the Guo Da Li.

Hair Combing Set / Shang Tou

The Hair Combing set is also part of the return gifts during the Guo Da Li.

However, nowadays are getting more and more modernised, so certain things might not be necessary by the family. This got to be thoroughly discussed among you and your parents.

Even you choose to be traditional, it seems that there are quite a few shops dealing with such chinese traditional customs where you can tapped into their knowledge.

So far, I had found one shop and one online shop that provide such services. So far the prices are pretty steep, so still need to continue to look for better ones.

For my dear frens who read my blog regularly, I am so sorry for being "M.I.A" for awhile!

Been pretty down recently, so no mood to do anything! Luckily, there's UNIVERSAL STUDIO to perk me up!!!

Yes, I am at UNIVERSAL STUDIO! The very first and largest amusement park that Singapore ever had!

We reach there at 9.30am, and the place is already jammed pack with people taking picture outside!

Saw the notice? "Singapore Is Sold Out!" This is definitely no joke! Dun ever try your luck by going there early to buy the tickets. I can guarantee you that you definitely got NO LUCK! Tickets are already long taken up online or bulk purchase by companies!

After a long queue for getting in the park, the first thing that we did was to get our breakfast!

Can't be help lah! Super hungry! And we got this bottle for $8.90! You can refill any soft drinks for $2 ONLY, so this is quite a super good deal!

After makan liao, you need to decide to turn left or right... And we TURN LEFT, cos I want to go FAR FAR AWAY LAND!

But before SHREK, we need to go to the zoo first -- MADAGASCAR!

Saw the kids, so we need to go for MERRY GO ROUND! Boh bian....

Finally, I can get to meet up with SHREK!!! Yeh, so excited!!!

Finally, FAR FAR AWAY!!! SHREK here I come!!!

Haiz... SHREK is not at home! So can only take his house!

After a heartwarming contact with SHREK and DONKEY, the following route is filled with scary rides and DINOS... Boohoohoo...

Just came out of the river raft ride! PLEASE NOTE! Dun be stingy and not spend $2 for a raincoat! Its definitely worth the money! TRUST ME!

After the DINOS, there comes the MUMMIES...

REVENGE OF THE MUMMY is a super scary ride!!! Haha... And I chicken out of the ride!!! Luckily, I din go, I heard its pretty scary!!!

This is not a ride! But a performance -- "WATER WORLD"! Dun ever try to miss it! Its the best stage show ever in UNIVERSAL STUDIO!

And remember, take the first row!

Charlie Chaplin....

Marilyn Monroe is not in town... So I had my butt being chilled!!!

SHOPPING TIME....

Hmm... What should I buy????

The Prince and Princess are done with their tour at FAR FAR AWAY!
