Ice Cream Making Workshop

So excited abt today's ice cream making workshop!!! All thanks to my darling's co. for organizing it!!!


B4 i step into the place, i thought the setting would b like some baking school or SHATEC tat hv super BIG machines n processors to work wif. But WOW, its an ice cream shop tat im stepping in!!!

Nope nope nope, can't c any ice cream making machines... but only salt, sugar, towel n a plastic bowl on the table. Hmm.... wondering how this going to b done???

Lesson starts!!! Darling running thru the notes on ice cream making, where David (the instructor) said dun bother to flip thru.... JUST LISTEN TO HIM!!!

Guess wat's the most impt ingredient in making ice cream??? Its AIR!!! Dun really get it, but only know tat its some physics n chemistry thingy... Ok, I left school for a long time.... Just spare me from it AND GET STRAIGHT TO THE ICE CREAM!!!

I can choose to make vanilla, coconut or chocolaty ice cream!!!! (Drums roll) VANILLA is the answer!!! Y vanilla? We r making the ice cream using fresh vanilla, never seen it b4, so must definitely get my hands on it!!!

Let me demo how to cut the vanilla pod!!! CAREFUL YR HANDS!!!

Then open up the pod n scrape it....

This is wat u get!!! Dun put the stick to waste either... Can serve s a stirrer for yr coffee to gv it the fragrance or put it into a bottle of sugar, then u get VANILLA SUGAR!!!

So wat's the ingredient? Sugar n vanilla, of course.... Remember how fatting ice cream can b? Cream n Milk is a MUST!!! Just mix all these 4 ingredients together...

Ok... So let's put it in the freezer? NO WAY!!! It will only become shave ice cos no air lah... YUCK!!! We r given a bag of ice, BUT not cold enough for ice cream. Need to add SALT to make it colder... Hmm... some science thingy again, dun ask me!!!

Then put the mixture in a ziplock bag n stuff it rite to the bottom of the salted ice bag... Start massaging it wif TLC

Gosh!!! My hands r tired after 15min of massaging... But its all worthwhile.... The taste is Great!!! YUMMY YUM YUM!!! Definitely much much much more better than Coconut (sompak)

Haiz... Even though the taste is superb, but i gotta throw it away. Cos an ice cream buffet is waiting for me!!!









Burp! I guess i had tasted almost all the flavors at U.D.D.E.R.S... Opps... my tummy is getting bigger.... Should i just get another scoop of 'rum n raisin' n leave dieting to tomolo?
