Mr. Ansley Tang is always MR. K.P.O, especially when comes to keeping the environment neat and clean! Nothing can escape from his big, round eyes!

He would pick up every strand of hair that he came across… He would take his little hanky and wipe every corner…

He would also tell you loudly when things are not put properly… And the CUTEST OF ALL, he would use his PIGGY BAT and treat it as a mop, and go around the house!

As Baby Ansley is growing bigger and stronger, his enthusiasm in helping up is growing bigger and stronger too! For a good reason, I will never say “NO” to my child, and we gave him the REAL THING ;P

Ansley was super excited when he received the Magic Clean mop! He will start to maneuver around the house quickly so as to ensure that he will be able to hit every corner!

I’M SO PROUD OF MY LITTLE HELPER!!!!

And to reward my LITTLE HARDWORKING HELPER, Darling and I have bought him a little gift for Christmas! Hope that Ansley will love it!

My first attempt for Carbonara is pretty much a failure! My eggs were cooked, and ended up, the sauce had a lumpy texture. The texture really affect the taste of the Carbonara!

And Darling really loves cream based pasta, so I decided to ATTEMPT CARBONARA AGAIN! I have searched different recipes and came out with my own version of CARBONARA!

Serving for 2

Ingredients:
- 1 bundle of spaghetti or any kind of pasta

- 6 slices of streaky bacon, cut into dice

- 2 slices of breakfast ham, cut into dice

- 4 tablespoon of grated parmesan cheese

- 2 eggs

- 1 clove of garlic, chopped finely

- ½ cup of heavy cream

Method:
1) Bring to boil a pot of water with some salt, and add in the pasta

2) Pan fried the bacon at the same time

3) Dish out the bacons once it turns crispy

4) Make use of the bacon oil and add in the garlic and breakfast ham

5) Add in the al dente pasta into the pan

6) Once the pasta and the ingredients are well mixed, add in the heavy cream

7) Turn off the fire on the stove when the heavy cream is heated up

8) Add in the eggs and grated parmesan immediately

9) Mixed well and serve

Darling and I both love the CARBONARA! All the effort is worth it!

Just a note… Original Carbonara only contains egg, cheese and bacon. BUT I love to have more sauce in my pasta, so I added the heavy cream! So UP TO YOU!

It was Pretty Crazy with Ansley over the weekend! He was literally whining non-stop, especially on Sunday!

Carry… Hug… Scold…. Sayang…. We have tried everything single thing we could, but he simply don’t stop!

The interesting thing out of the WHINY SAGA is that Ansley is actually a very sweet and sensitive kid! He seems to know when is the right time to whine and when to stop.

During our Sunday Class at HAPPY TRAIN, he was whining in the beginning. But when his classmates are crying and behaving hysterically, he JUST STOP! He seems to understand that he should not add-on to the tension in the classroom.

After class, we went home and I started cooking for dinner! Cooking two different types of Carbonara – Popi version and Baby version – almost drives me crazy! Saw my hectic action in the kitchen through the glass door, Ansley seems to know that Momi is busy. Instead of whining, he starts turning circle to show me and giggle as he turns… SO CUTE!

The SWEETEST MOMENT came during dinner! Dinner is served, but I need to feed Ansley first, so my food is left untouched. Halfway through feeding, Ansley started pointing and talk to me loudly! At first, I thought he is starting his whining regime. But he kept pointing at my pasta, so I asked, “Are you asking Momi to take my food?” and he nodded his head.

I AM SUPER TOUCH! Ansley is only 17.5 months old and yet he understand the concept of caring. And especially caring for Momi, I almost gone into tears!

Through this incident, I truly believe no matter how bad the day is, our child is like an angel to us! This little angels might be naughty, but they will love you and care for you no matter what!

Over the weekend, we have some friends coming over to our place for a steamboat gathering. And as usual, there is a lot of leftovers…. Meat…. Veggie…. Seafood….

I guess the easiest way to clear some of the stuffs is FRIED RICE! SELF CREATED Fried Rice – Spinach and Fish Fried Rice!

Serving for 2

Ingredients:
- 1 bowl of cooked rice (estimated 1 cup of rice)

- 1 bowl of snapper, diced

- 3 stalk of spinach, chopped

- 2 cloves of garlic, chopped finely

- 4 eggs

Seasoning (for the egg):
- 1 tablespoon of light soya sauce

- A dash of pepper

Seasoning (for the rice):
- 1 tablespoon of light soya sauce

Method:
1) Add oil in wok

2) Add in the garlic when the oil starts to heat up

3) Stir fried the snapper

4) Add in the spinach when the snapper is semi cooked

5) Add in the rice and stir in the light soya sauce till everything is well combined

6) Pour in the egg bit by bit and quickly stir fried to mix the rice and egg together

7) Dish and serve

PERSONALLY, I feel that the taste is pretty yummy! Hope you will like it too!

Ansley loves to kneel on the floor to play recently! I also don’t know why he loves to do this recently, but he looks SUPER ADORABLE when he kneels on the floor.

This little one is super cheeky! Every time I saw this position, I would rush for the camera…. But when I’m back with the camera, he would quickly “UN-KNEEL” himself!

So after many… many…. many…. attempts! Finally got a shot!

Ok, I know! Baby kneeling is a common thing! But ISN”T HE CUTE? Look at the way he kneel! Isn’t he kneeling like a professional?

SO CUTE! I’m simply loving it! So just let me share such a beautiful moment!

I always have this impression that travelling with a baby is almost MISSION IMPOSSIBLE! However, after our very first trip with Ansley, it is actually NOT THAT BAD!

FIRST THING FIRST! Location will be the deciding factor for a lot of things! The Penang trip is like a TEST TRIP to us to check out on Ansley’s reaction towards plane ride, local food and water and etc…

Tips on selecting destination
1)  Keep flight hours within 3 hours or even lesser (you will never ever know if your baby can take the air pressure)

2) A baby friendly environment (Toilet…. Supermarket.… In case you need something, you know you can get it)

3) Car, Taxi, MRT or busses can be easily accessible

That’s why we have chosen Penang, even though Thailand is also less than 3 hours flight! And we are more confident driving on Penang’s road as compared to Bangkok.

After you have confirmed, the SECOND THING to consider about is FOOD! I’m not sure about you, but for me, Ansley only eat HOMECOOKED FOOD, as I’m afraid of MSG stuffs. SO, we started to check with the hotel if they have porridge and tried to find some instant food that is filling for toddlers. THIS STEP IS VERY SUBJECTIVE! If you are okay with outside food, then it will not be a huge problem.

The THIRD THING is bringing Ansley to the doctor the week before we fly! The rationale behind it is to ensure that Ansley is fit to travel and also to get medicines from the doctor in case of emergency! FLU… FEVER… COUGH…. DIARRHEA…. VOMITTING…. Just take whatever that you can think of!

And the FINAL THING is…. THE PACKING LIST! The kiasu me split the Packing List into two parts – one to be able to bring on board the plane and the other one is to be packed into the language…

Things to Pack On Board the Plane
- Clothes

- Diapers

- Insect Repellant

- Sunblock

- Handkerchiefs

- Bib

- Wet Tissue

- Tissue

- Sanitizer

- Milk Bottle

- Water Flask

- LOTS OF SNACKS

Things to Pack Travelling with Toddler
- Toothbrush

- Baby Shower Gel

- Moisturizing Lotion

- 如意油 (if you use it for your baby)

- Medicine

- Nappy Cream

- Baby Washing Detergent (for Ansley’s utensils)

- More Clothes

- More Diapers

- More Handkerchiefs

- More Bibs

- Pillow

- Blanket

- Swimsuit (in case the swimming pool is too difficult to resist)

- Thermal Flask for Food

- A Tin of Milk Powder

- Utensils

Immediately fill the milk bottle and water flask with water once you board the plane. As adults, we know that we can swallow saliva when our ears are blocked due to the plane taking off, but OUR BABY DON’T!

So one of the best way is to constantly feed them with WATER! Another method of mine is to give them SNACKS! Afraid that TOO MUCH SNACKS, is BAD FOR HEALTH? You can buy DRIED FRUITS and CUT THEM INTO MINIATURE SIZE! This way, they might only take two to three big pieces of the snacks, and the constantly opening of the box can be a form of distraction to them too!

THAT’S ALL I HAVE TO SHARE!

It is definitely not easy to travel with a baby or a toddler, but it is definitely not that difficult too! I believe the KEYWORD here is PLANNING!

The building of E&O Hotel is a very classic, clean white colonial building – REALLY BEAUTIFUL! However, the first thing that caught our eyes is the beautiful scenic view that is placed right in front of E&O Hotel. It seems like we are walking to a picture for a holiday!

NEXT thing that came welcoming us is the grand lobby! Dark and woody colour with some vintage ornaments makes you feel that you are one of the British Royal family arriving in Penang.

Too bad, we are Royals in T-shirts and shorts ;P

The check-in procedure is really fast. We head up to our rooms and the corridor looks so CLASSY! Honestly, I’m starting to really feel like a royalty!

Room 808 and 809 gives us another WOW WOW WOW…. Check out the BED!

There is also a cozy READING CORNER for you….

If you prefer to have the cool breeze to get onto to your skin, you can CHILL OUT at the BALCONY…

Seriously, the view is super GORGEOUS!

BLUE BLUE SKY

And BLUE BLUE SEA

Such a relaxing sight…. No wonder Ansley loves to get in and out of the balcony!

And the toilet is another big place, which is almost the same size of the bedroom! The two sinks have already occupied one third of the space….

The bath tub, the shower room and the bowl (you know lah!) take up two third of the space….

Look at what the room has got to offer to you… Just slack in the hotel is enough, no need to go anywhere.

Okay! I know some of you will be asking what about food? PENANG IS FAMOUS FOR THEIR FOOD! Shouldn’t you head out to try some?

As long as you are a guest of E&O Hotel, you will be considered as a Club member, therefore entitled to the CLUB LOUNGE!

Other than the normal breakfast buffet, you can help yourself with the free flow of finger food from 5pm to 7pm.

There is a free flow of alcohol too…. Gin Tonic please!

Overall, EVERYTHING IS GREAT! Service is great, Room is great, View is great, Food is good! And everything is happening at about 600 ringgit per night! It is a SUPER WORTH DEAL!

Rating: 4.5/5 (Nothing is perfect in the world!)

Over the weekend, Darling went for the Halloween Horror Nights and bought a lighted horns! And since is Halloween is yesterday, we took out the horns again! FOR ANSLEY! I would like to show you his cutie pictures!
Ansley, "WHAT'S THAT ON MY HEAD?"

And ANSLEY LOVES IT!

Every time we brought him to the mirror, he will start to giggle non-stop! SO CUTE!

And of course, there should be candies for HALLOWEEN!

YES, but candies too sweet for toddlers! Replace with TEETH RING!

What a wonderful Halloween with Ansley!

18 October 2013 is a SUPER SIGNIFICANT DAY! Other than Ansley had just hit 16 months old, it is also ANSLEY’s FIRST TRIP out of Singapore!
ANSLEY CAN’T WAIT AT ALL – he had been slapping both of us since 4.30am in the morning even though the flight is like 10.30am! No choice lah! Let’s head off to the airport earlier!
Changi Airport Terminal 2 and that’s when ALL THE CRAZINESS STARTS!

Ansley busy jaga-ing our luggage….

Ansley busy checking out the famous Changi Airport….

Ansley exploring the Premier Lounge….

Ansley checking out the plane….

How come take so long???

Actually, the wait is not long lah! We managed to board the plane shortly after we went through our boarding gate. Just that Ansley is impatience, but I guess all babies are the same….

Once the plane set off, we are served with food….

Ansley is not interested in the sandwiches, but the milk….

Must QUICKLY DRINK, Momi going to take away the bottle from me….

After almost two hours of trying to get him to sit on his seat, we finally reached. It was the LONGEST 2 HOURS in my life! Thank goodness that my in-laws came along, if not I might go crazy by trying to get my little one sit still!

The jam to our hotel is SUPER CRAZY! I guess is because of Hari Raya Haji…. Cars are parked everywhere, which causes the jam! Luckily, we managed to get to the hotel safely!

Ansley LOVE LOVE LOVE…. Or should be SUPER LOVE the hotel! He was never tired of the hotel at all, even though we spend most of the time in the hotel in our three days stay there!

You will see more of the hotel pictures in my next blog…. The focus now is on ANSLEY!

On our second day, we head off to Kek Lok Si, which is our only visited spot in Penang as the weather is pretty bad during our trip!

Taking the tram up….

Nice view at the top….

BLINK BLINK BLINK…. And our trip is over…. BACK TO SINGAPORE! That’s all folks!

Hey Hey… WHAT ABOUT THE FOOD? FAMOUS PENANG FOOD? Bad weather, lots of road change…. We are unable to find much! Most of the eating is in the hotel! Sorry for that!
